… to reach Hoorn. Not because I was too tired, or wasn’t in good shape. I had troubles with my skin around my genitalia. It was soft and sweaty, so that the skin turned red and became very very painful. I used some lip-balsam (I always have it inside the Quest) but it worked only for a few minutes. Anyone has good advice, please ? Standing at the ferry to Velsen-Noord, I decided to turn around and go back home. I arrived back home at midnight and had done 375 km. according to GPS and 402 km. to Cateye.

It was a good ride, I saw many cyclists on my route. Unfortunately I felt a headache coming up (due to the exhaust gasses ?) but it quickly disappeared when I cycled through the Dutch dunes with clean and clear sea-air.

I read this article in the NYTimes.com and remembered their first video about stealing bikes. Now it is Casey Neistat who made a new video.

“I recently spent a couple of days conducting a bike theft experiment, which I first tried with my brother Van in 2005. I locked my own bike up and then proceeded to steal it, using brazen means — like a giant crowbar — in audacious locations, including directly in front of a police station. I wanted to find out whether onlookers or the cops would intervene. What you see here in my film are the results.”

When a dog licks his nose …

… he is feeling uncomfortable! It is a clear sign for other dogs, but we humans don’t seem to understand it. We probably think that dogs are using their tongue as a handkerchief ….

And when “strangers” are coming too close, any dog will react like we would when a complete stranger is trying to give us a “French kiss” …

Dogs are as dangourous as the bread-knife in our kitchen cabinet. Unfortunately some people never learn and have to be protected from dogs.
