In remembrance of Nelson

When we heard that Nelson died, we were listening to old music, out of the days of Apartheid. For instance this old record with the beautifull voice of James Madhlope Phillips. Both Marjan and I like to listen to this old LP “INKULULEKO !”, that was recorded on 21 September 1980 in Bremen.

Marjan sang it when she was a member of “Links Kollektief Walcheren”. In those days we couldn’t think that many years later the most beautifull song (Nkosi Sikelel) would be used for the National anthem of South Africa, combined with “Die Stem van Suid-Afrika”.   I wish the Netherlands had a similiar anthem 😉

I could’t find any registration on the World Wide Web …..  So I used our old record-player and did my illegal best. I hope there will be someone who is able to make better digital recordings soon …
