a saturday afternoon in Utrecht
We were in Utrecht last Saturday afternoon. Just wandering through the inner city, alongside the many canals. Utrecht is a typical Dutch city with lots of students and therefore a lot of bicycles. Every day is “individual mass” in this town ! A short video ;

Eastermeeting 2008
During Easter I went to the “Harskamperdennen”, a camping at the Veluwe where a lot of other recumbent cyclists were together for three nights. This year it was freezing cold and the weatherforecast said there would be snow-showers…….. We were lucky, because at the times we planned a visit to the museum on Saturday and…

easter meeting (paastreffen)
What is wrong with an old man who is cycling 200 kilometers in the rain to a meeting of recumbent-riders, sleeping in a tent at freezing temperatures for 3 nights and then cycling the same 200 km’s back home , while at the same time he has a comfortable camper available ????? He likes cycling…

do the test
Please do the test here and find out if your able to take part in the daily traffic jam, without hitting any bicyclists. Yesterday I was (again) in a situation I felt like “a moonwalking bear” ; the car driver looked me straight into my eyes but totally denied my presence at the bicycle path…

skins
I bought some clothes of Skins. I used an internet-shop, because there are no retailers in the Netherlands. So Sportbedarf was the nearest deliverer possible. Now I am testing the stuff and I think at first sight, it is OK . Next week I will cycle to the Easter-Meeting organised by recumbentriders for recumbentriders. So…

Skins
I don’t know what to think about this product……… Their website is fantastic, high quality photos and a fine presentation of the products. Even the text above the underpants shows a good sense of humor. It’s made in Australia, so must be OK ? But what about their claims ? Is there anyone who has…

new Vredestein HPV 40-406 tyres
I examined the tyres of my Quest today. There was a sort of wave in the right front tyre; maybe one of the two woven layers was torn ? This tyre had rolled 4200 kilometers and it seems that that is the distance it will serve my velomobile reliable. I have checked the pressure weekly…

tyre trouble
I have “Vredestijn HPV“- tyres on my Velomobile. They are comfortable, but pick up lots of small sharp stones. I don’t blame the tyres for it, but I do think that the professionals who decide to “protect” the cycle path with these stoney needles needs to be discharged ! Nice flat silky asphalt roads will…

Shimano sandal with cleat
Today I bought these sandals. I only heard positive things about these sandals in velomobiles by users. So now I can find out myself….. I have thought of the simple idea to make something like Gary did…….. ……but when I realized that Rob Thomson already tested the Shimano sandels to the extreme on his travels…

Sheldon Brown
Yesterday I’ve heard that Sheldon Brown had a serious heart attack and died………….. With him we loose a great cyclist………… Now the only thing we can do to honour him is to visit his pages as a homage.

new T-shirts
Our new T-shirts ; When you’re on a recumbent, no one can see the text on the backside…….. So it will be clear that Marjan seldom uses her recumbent, while I use mine daily 😉
