There is a long list of ethical rules that define etiquette for cyclists. There is also a list that recumbent riders must adhere to and one of those rules is number 17.To comply with rule 17, it is useful to have a smartphone with you …But the other rules are also very useful to adhere to!Continue reading “#regel17 or #rule17 in Zeeland.”

Dutch Championships Headwindcycling 2022
Tomorrow will be the 2022-edition of the Dutch Championships Headwindcycling! The last edition was in December 2018, which seems a long time ago … I’ll be there … with my camera! A couple of photos I made in 2018, as a reminder … The weather forecast is bad for photographers … lots of rain!
camera repair
One of my cameras is broken. The Canon 70D kept getting an “error 80” message. Fortunately, it is a known and recognized issue at Canon and is currently being fixed at TechRepair. So, for now, I have to make use of my other cameras … I hope repair won’t take too long as I’m already missing the camera body…
De Uitlaat
In the industrial area, east of Vlissingen is the site of motorsports association “De Uitlaat”. During a short bike ride, I happened to see a couple of guys racing actively. The light was beautiful, the track was dry and there was little wind, so I couldn’t resist the temptation to get out of my velomobile and take some pictures.
turtledoves in our garden
Mother turtle-dove decided to make her nest in a wicker basket that is always on our porch. She laid two eggs which both hatched without any problems. So we could enjoy 2 turtle-doves growing up every day and have also gained a lot of respect for the turtle-dove that took excellent care of their young and defended with great courage against crowsContinue reading “turtledoves in our garden”
old sailing ships on the Oosterschelde
analogue photography has something mysterious in the current digital age … the realization that I took these photos some 40 years ago makes me feel like an old man … I think it’s fantastic that there are still photographers who make their photos analog, although I notice that the technique of the darkroom is oftenContinue reading “old sailing ships on the Oosterschelde”
old negatives with many fond memories
The rising fascism and the putting of the human economy above the natural pandemic annoys me terribly. Modern digital social media has destroyed the human capacity for news gathering, consultation and collaboration. To put things into perspective, to find a bit more distraction and to get through the current long dark winter evenings I tookContinue reading “old negatives with many fond memories”
one of the simplest photo stories of all times …
The well-known story about grandchildren and their grandparents, but also vice versa … about grandparents and their grandchildren. The story seems the same, but seen from old to young is a very different storyline than from young to old. Physically only holding hands is the same … The story of living and passing on …Continue reading “one of the simplest photo stories of all times …”
A lot of rainy days …
The advantage of a lot of rain is that there are many varied skies!

Caspar asked me for some photos he can use for his new site : https://drenthinspectieservices.nl/ It had to have a few tubes, barrels and other inspectable stuff on it … So I dived into my archive. and found a few examples … . . old school tools much more can be found in my ThermphosContinue reading “https://drenthinspectieservices.nl/”
Normandy, France.
We went travelling for a few days with our old camper. After months of unemployment in our small family bubble in a world with COVID-19 and many sterile job applications, the need to see a different environment was great. The general advice is to avoid crowds and therefore Normandy seemed a suitable target. The firstContinue reading “Normandy, France.”
as it should
For the first time, I see how it should be done. I have been annoyed for years by the way people deal with the removal of obsolete buildings. But now something is being broken down the way it should. This building has been used by Pouwelse Tuinen for years. Now it has to make way for the construction of new houses. Because years ago it was decided to buildContinue reading “as it should”
classic fallacy
Last night I suddenly woke up to realize that I was making a classic fallacy in my so-called selfie through the bathroom mirror. It is not a selfie, but a registration of the image as I am used to seeing myself. For the rest of the world, it is a mirror image … To make a selfie of that mirror image, I have to mirror theContinue reading “classic fallacy”
new cleats
8 years ago I bought my Shimano sandals and today I had to renew the cleats, because I had troubles with my left cleat. I placed them relatively far under my foot, because my heels protrude less deep under the Quest and of course also because I suffer less from less blood circulation in theContinue reading “new cleats”
