nostalgia

This music is repeatedly in my brain, these days. Must be nostalgia ……

Even when I’m in my velomobile I keep searching for Atom Heart Mother on my MP3-player.

I found a performance on YouTube that is even more beautiful then the original Pink Floyd version ……..

To me it’s a kind of “St Matthew Passion” for Atheists ;-)

Neil is never too old …….

…… and he is one of the few singers who can sing out of tune with impunity ……..

…………. compare him to the Neil he was 30 years ago …………

Too old ?

connection strip

David W. asked me how I connected the windshield to my Quest. I used Tenax fasteners first, but that didn’t work out well when I use the cockpit skirt. So now it’s connected with a simple thin sheet iron. I bend it in such a way that it also holds down the cockpit skirt, when in use. Just to protect the quest body against the sharp edges of the sheet iron, I used insulating tape in the same colour as the body.

Wim S. is using a windshield too. In a totally different way.

marathon plus after 10.000 km.

I bought 2 new tyres, so I’m ready for winter !

Reminds me of times long ago

I just like this video !

www.velomobiel.wordpress.com

Velomobiel.nl has started a new blog ! I thank Wim G. who gave the first hint on the Dutch recumbent Google-group.

I’m glad they decided to use wordpress.com . But maybe it’s a bit confusing that the word “velomobiel” is written in Dutch. I think most English-speaking cyclists will type the address with “velomobile”.

I’m sure there is going to be  a lot of interesting information about the why’s and how’s for us velonauts ;-)

Juffrouw Sijbels

Located between a few schools was this little store owned by Miss Sijbels. Because of the many adolescent customers she had Treets, Smith chips, and all the typical Dutch candy’s like drop, chocolate, etc. in her assortment.

What have you stolen from Miss Sijbels in the Seventy’s when she had her little candy store in the town center of Vlissingen ?

70

It would be his 70th birtday ……………

Ofcourse I like all his famous songs, but I think that the lyrics John wrote for “working class hero” are monumental !

And on internet I found a photo of John riding on his bicycle!

In his biography is written;

As a kid, I had a dream – I wanted to own my own bicycle. When I got the bicycle, I must have been the happiest boy in Liverpool, maybe in the world. I lived for that bike. Most kids left their bikes in the backyard at night. Not me. I insisted on taking mine indoors and the first night I even kept it in my bed.

On his new official YouTube channel there are a lot of congratulation-video’s. I special like the one Jeff Bridges made .  The same humor John must have had ………..
