damaged quest

A young guy wanted to park his car at the parking. He therefore had to cross the bicycle-path alongside the road. After he damaged my quest velomobile he said that he didn’t see me in my red, 2.8 meter long quest ……..

The polyester coated fairring is very thin and vulnerable, but nevertheless it protected my legs and skin against injuries.

The quest velomobiel already has been transported to Velomobiel.nl in Dronten. I can only hope that the specialists are able to repair all the damage and transform my damaged quest into a technical perfect machine again ………

Now my adventure in the strange and specialised world of insurances is starting ….

  1. In May I had exactly the same kind of accident on a bicycle-path. The car-driver didn’t realize it was a two-way path, and only looked backwards.

Anyhow, it costed me my bottom bracket axle and cranks. The car had a leaking radiator, because my pedal was sticking through.

Good luck with the insurance. It took me almost three months of phoning to collect the money to cover the damages.

  3. Hoi Wim,
Groet, Bram v Uden, rode Quest 283.

  4. I experiment with a lightweight and inexpensive bumper system for my Quest 286. Given that 1 of the nine American Quests and 3 of the 7 English Quests have been destroyed under similar circumstances, I would say that a simple, lightweight, effective and removable deceleration device would be well worth $50.00 US.
