My rechargeable batteries have lost a lot of their capacity and I wanted to buy a good and advanced battery conditioner to break in. After a lot of surfing on the internet I found the next picture …
(thanks Robert Elsinga for the link).
So I decided to buy the Powerex from MAHA and ordered one via NKON.
So is there anyone who can use an old HEMA charger ?
It takes a lot of time to refresh all my NiMH batteries, but I’m sure most of them will come out with a lot more capacity ! Wim Schermer has mentioned the high quality of Eneloop batteries on his interesting blog before …… see here.
The next photo shows the progress of GPS technique in the last nine years …

I don’t want your HEMA charger, but I really can use the POWEREX from MAHA…..

I went with a Tenergy Smart Charger and Eneloop batteries last year. It doesn’t have the visual display, just indicator lights. The smart charger recovered a number of old NiMh batteries that I thought were useless. It also showed which ones should be replaced.

I have one and it works just great at recovering batteries that I thought were useless. Was also useful in determing good quality batteries. In also agree that the Sanyo Eneloop batteries are good. They can be bought fairly cheaply at Costco in Canada.

Yes, yes, eneloops rock! I have stocked my whole family up on them. I had many Ansmanns on my tour but they went from their nice silver-green to only silver due to all the vibrations and rubbing on each other. But many of those are still fine, especially for my headlights.
And regarding the GPS. The Garmin one I have is a pure love affair … especially with the free and open OpenStreetMap maps from http://www.openmtbmap.org . I love mapping myself by bike and on foot (running), it’s just so much fun.
I’m curious how my edge will perform in the Brevet series ahead this year (200, 300, 400, 600 and 1000 km at a time) – training for Paris Brest Paris 2011 🙂
Greetings to you and the whole family, Wim!

Hi Wim,
unfortunately I probably won’t be able to. Going for the 600 km Brevet in northern Bavaria starting at 04.06. (http://www.ara.randonneure.de/). So I’ll probably be riding 04.06 + part of 05.06. and afterwards I’ll need some sleep. 🙂
I have won enough @last Cycle Vision, if you understand my personal definition of “winning” 😉
