a different culture ….

………that I don’t understand.

I can’t imagine a situation where an adult man wishes to some god that a principal has a M4 in her office ….. It must be the US of A .

As long as this kind of madman are allowed to spread their crazy thoughts on television without a comment wich puts things in perspective, there will never be peace.

But I’m optimistic; there are also many pascifists living in the same US-culture.  They also must be heard,  ………. but unfortunately networks like Fox and Powned are winning for now.

Jerry A. Coyne wrote a very nice post about the reactions after the shooting.

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), a staunch Second Amendment supporter, told Chris Wallace today on FOX News Sunday, “And, hearing the heroic story of the principal lunging, trying to protect. Chris, I wish to God she would have had an M4 in her office locked up. so when she heard gunfire she pulls it out and she didn’t have to lunge heroically with nothing in her hands, But she takes him out, takes his head off before he could kill those precious kids.”

  1. With surprise I’ve looked at Doomsday weekend last weekend on Discovery.
I’m investigating for a long time the end of the times to get it in perspective. Most of the stories are manipulated and nonsense. There is still plenty that sounds reasonable and on which I’ve questions remain seated.

Everyone has their own insight to solve problems. There are also many different ways to do that in real life.
In the United States is, historicly, the right to arms yourself a logical thought. At first I was thinking to arm myself to for self-defense. In spite of the fact that I am a non-violent a person. I thought it was only, if I have food and shelter for myself and family, I may defend that in time of need. My legal right.
    Regardless of the consequences.

After long thought and lots of reading I came to the conclusion that the difference is in that last sentence.
    -Regardless of the consequences.-
As the man in the video says: If the heroic lady in that class with children had a weapon they could have had the offender….shot his head off. Typical language for a non-pacifist. It didn’t com up in his mind that the teacher can’t hold up a weapon agains a Human without second thoughts. She would more likely not be able to pull the trigger.
The man assumes that everyone can. He would do it.

But he is not representative of everyone. Research shows that 80% of the military soldiers deliberately shoot but missed as their own life is’t in direct danger. They shoot at command, not out of free choice. If there’s a choice they shoot not to kill.

If the lady had picked up a weapon she will be for the rest of her life traumatised. It seems that man of the film is not emotionally affected by such a act. Or think he is not. Or has never given it a thought to the consequences of his act.

What he called act in self-defense is in fact a decision for something that has happened or is going to happen. At the time that you decide to pick up a weapon, you start a violent chain reaction.
Suppose that everyone is caring a gun like the man in the wants us to do. Then the attacker will know that in advance and keep it in mind. Logical consequence is that his attack power will be greater in order to overcome the resistance. The result?
A bloodbath and likely to get worse.

We are back at square one …..

When someone tries to assault my vegetable plot and little community with fire arms in bad times?
I’ll first try to negotiate. Or keep the assessor at distance. Then try to survive the situation to live another day and move on to another spot and start all over again if possible.

We are surviving a violent world not by picking up Weapons against Weapons.
    Then I reather die.
