wading through the river Río Ara, I smelled rotting meat …

It turned out to be a dead boar that was wedged between two large boulders. The cold water kept the flesh and skin intact. Only what was sticking out of the water was quite rotten.

 

it looks like it is an adult wild boar drowned in the river in one way or another …

 

 

It certainly has had a more natural life than all those hundreds of thousands of pigs in breeding farms we drove by. I wondered how the vultures can reach this cadaver …
