Poblat medieval de Llagunes

We have visited this beautiful place on our journey through the Mountains of the Catalan Pyrenees. If you are interested in the history of the harsh mountain life that has made the Catalans the proud independent people of today … then this place is worth a visit.

A lot has been researched and everything is explained and interpreted in a clear way. Of course we were impressed by all the preservation work and respected the unique aspect of it. We just took some photos and only left our footprints …

For a good insight into the history of Catalonia you can watch this short video.

Because it is located on a mountain top, you can take incredibly beautiful landscape photos of the surroundings with the ever-changing light.

The village in the photo is Tornafort

All kinds of other lichens are found at this altitude than we are used to in the Netherlands …
