Monday morning, a special funeral procession, with great applause from neighbors, went from Mariahout to the funeral home De Groof in Beek en Donk.
Mrs. Diny Verhoeven – Brouwers was brought to the funeral by her husband with a mourning-bicycle. This was supervised by cycling club Bloed Zweet en Tranen / De Bosduvels and family members.
Ms. and Mr. Verhoeven were both avid cyclists and active members of the tandem cycling club. Mr. Verhoeven acted as a pilot for a visually impaired / blind cyclist during the paralympic games in 1994.
