  • Snow in Portland

    I think that people in Portland are not used to snowy conditions. It is clear that cyclists are not safe on the streets when these drivers are in their car.

  • the best webcam in Vlissingen

    This is the best webcam in the neighbourhood of were I live. It shows the Boulevard in Vlissingen (is called “Flushing” on english maps) and is pointed to the west.

  • man of the year !

      I opened my mailbox and thought that my brother was to be elected as the “man of the year 2006” ! But it turned out to be a nice powerpoint presentation that shows that a cyclist among us has been elected. I don’t know who were in the jury, but I have a feeling…

  • storm

    A short video of our back garden in the storm today. The trees in our neighbour’s garden are a great defence against the storms coming from the south-west . Rea and Mo had to stay inside and were looking through the window.

  • last day

    Rea had her last day at her trainee post. After learning and working for one year, everybody thought she was a colleague instead of a student. She learned a lot at her trainee post, but also changed from a teenager into a grown-up with adult behaviour.

  • renew the brakes

    We had to renew the brakes of our Citroên AX. One of the cylinders was leaking.

  • commuting with a colleague

    It was warm and dry yesterday. So a lot of bicyclists were out on the cycle-paths. A colleague of me also went to our work on his bicycle. I planned to practise with my photocamera and wanted to know how the video- mode would work while cycling on my bent.  So here is the result 😉

  • a new microwave

    We needed a new microwave. Now we not only have a new microwave, but also a new mirror in our kitchen. So the Sharp becomes unsharp 😉

  • cooking

    While I just sit at the table in our kitchen (doing nothing really, just playing with this blog), my daughter is busy cooking a fine dinner for us. At the moment there is very bad weather in the Netherlands; storms up to 110 km/h.

    I think that this movie gives a good expression of the feeling I get on my recumbent. Unfortunately I do not own a videocamera to make my own movies, but if I had one it would look the same.

    I just got these homologations (200 and 300 km’s) by “slow-mail” yesterday. The guys from AUDAX expect you to do the brevet on your bicycle in the shortest possible time, but then it takes them almost 2 years to send the homologation ! I like the French, nobody gets them speedy exept when they’re on…
