Zephyr and Bob-yak

I gave my Zephyr recumbent some good maintenance and plucked the old Bob-yak from the ceiling of our shed, where it hanged for 20 years. Some black paint, new bearings, grease and a bit oil after a good cleaning was all it took to be ready to roll. It’s funny that Strava asked if IContinue reading “Zephyr and Bob-yak”

tinkering with a bicycle bell

I think the pictures are self-explanatory … Today I cycled a bit and in various situations where pedestrians and cyclists blocked the cycle path, there was an understanding response and they made room for me … there was no fierce and angry reaction like after using the horn!

I need a “friendly” sounding bicycle bell.

putting things together …

The corona crisis made me think back to my father who always kept the “used-but-still-good” screws, bolts and nuts in glass jars. I have adopted that habit … in times of crisis always handy to have some spare inContinue reading “putting things together …”

Top half is off …

The top is off so that I can easily reach everything inside the Quest-body. I clearly notice that my own body is now 64 years old and the flexibility has disappeared in recent years. The small openings in Quest 552 are such that I have to choose; either see through it, or put one armContinue reading “Top half is off …”

velomobile parts

Today I received the improved version of the broken clamps! Thanks to Mark Waters I was able to assemble them today and adjust my bottom bracket again. So tomorrow I will cycle again and from the day after tomorrow plenty of commuters! Mark has made my worldview a little more positive. They still exist …Continue reading “velomobile parts”
